b a n a n a s - for polyvore.com

(imagine that said in Rachel Zoe's "bananas" voice)... so today I was introduced to this site called, "polyvore.com." I realize I might be a little late finding out about this wonderful site but I had to share this amazing find!
It helps you figure out your style and once you do you can buy the items you like on the site through various sites. Not only do they help you figure out your style, they'll show you what trends are coming up too. This was like the icing to an already beautiful Friday. Check them out!
Below is the outfit I picked out for me today! And then some of the trend reports.

C H A N E L

Plain and simple, I love chanel! From the logo to the quilted handbags to the fabulous ads! I've been wanting to post something about the movie, "Coco Before Chanel" for a long time now.
During one of my sick days last year that so happened to oddly coincide with a free week of HBO, I got to see the lovely movie. It's a story about her rise from obscure beginnings to the heights of the fashion world. I love how she didn't just follow a trend because it was a "trend" she was truly inspired by her surroundings and made her own clothes and hats (where she actually started her career). She's such an inspiration. Not to mention that they had Audrey Tautou play Gabrielle Chanel, aka Coco. Read a review or learn more about the movie here or go to the official site here.
Here are just some lovely shots of the movie and the brand (that I found on the official site)! I recommend watching it if you love fashion - but maybe not with your boy-toy, the movie starts off slow and I know how my hubby hates that...

hello again...

Oh how my mind is so random at this moment... so what better time to post on my blog!

number 1: Have you seen the new Starbucks logo? It took me a while to figure out what I thought about it but, now I have made up my mind. Besides the logo updating to one color and the fact that it's clean and modern, I'm not oh so feeling it? Why would you take away the copy? As a co-worker of mine pointed out, it worked for Nike, but not for a coffee store.

number 2: I'm loving thesartoriolist.com blog. An artist with 15 years experience in advertising goes all around the world while on locations for jobs and takes pictures of people with interesting style. I can't get enough of it! Check his blog out, you'll truly be inspired.

number 3: I'm super-duper hungry! The new meds I'm on also make me like an empty stomach pit. I couldn't figure it out for weeks why I'm so hungry. At least now I have a reason for sneaking the ben & jerry's ice cream last night. shhh, my husband didn't see!

number 4: The twilight books are those types of books you just can't put down. Yes, I know I'm 26, married and have a mortgage. But there's something about reading a story about 18 year olds and the awkwardness/adrenaline that they face when falling in love. ah (sigh)

and that's pretty much it. Hopefully there are some cheery things on your mind!

Vivian Maier, street photographer and nanny

My dear friend Alisha, shared this through her twitter and after watching it I was completely inspired! It's about a nanny from the 1950's who on her days off would just go out and take pictures of people in Chicago. No one ever viewed her photos until they were auctioned off by one of her former employers. The story is so much more in depth and truly inspiring!
I need to find a way to convince my husband to go to her show in Chi-town... I'm going to try and devise a plan!

favorite moments of 2010...

As 2010 comes to a close, 2011 will begin. But before it does I wanted to take a moment and remember all the amazing times 2010 allowed my husband and I to have. So here's my favs of 2010.
I hope you can reflect on 2010 and remember the good times too! And may God bless your new year with love and laughter! Happy New Year!

The first walk of the new year that my hubby and I took. We love to take a quiet stroll after work with our cameras once the weather warms up!

My dear friend's bachelorette party in Florida in May! What a hot looking group ;0)

My sister's bachelorette party in June! This was so much planning but it was all worth it!

New York, New York! Our much needed vacay and first days off of the year. I will never again wait until June to take off. Here the husband is at the Met - looking like he's behind bars.

Me admiring this beauty of a painting!

Lady Liberty!

Our favorite part of our trip. We went on a NBC tour and they gave us free tickets to Jimmy Fallon's Late, Late night show. Fabulous!

July 30th, my sister's wedding rehearsal. I love the expression!

Priceless! My dear cousin is amazing and theatrical. I think this is my favorite pic of 2010!

August 2nd, my 26th birthday. Jeepers, I'm getting old. My mom made me red velvet cake, yum!

My wonderful husband surprised me with a weekend getaway for my birthday to Madison! We went to a winery, had a fabulous Beni Hanas dinner and visited this adorable pier where we watched the sun set. He truly is wonderful!

August 8th, Amber's wedding!

Dan's sister and her family came to visit from Denver in August too! We love when they're here. The Zuperku family picture of 2010.

This picture makes me laugh every time I see it. This is the behind the scenes of a family picture. Love it!

A sad moment for me but a happy moment for my brother. He went off to college, so I asked that he look sad in the picture to mimic my mood. Love him.

Not to be out done by her little brother, my sister Amanda had to go off to Steven's Point (after already completing 2 years of college at a closer college) at the end of August too! I'm so happy for her, love you lady!

Then the end of August hit and with all the busyness I needed a physical change, thus the hair cut!

September 19th, our 2 year anniversary. And the dress still fits!

Husband and I finally had time for our beloved walks again and took some of my favorite pics!

October 28th, Dan turns 27 and rides a red hot pepper in front of our friends at one of his fav mexican restaurants! Love him so much!

Haha, green men! So for a Halloween party, Dan's childhood friends dress up as the green man from Always Sunny in Phildelphia! Couldn't stop laughing!

And we went as a plug and an outlet! We couldn't stop laughing at us either. But then to later find out that my grandparents went to a Halloween party as this as well. Well, let's just say good taste runs in the family!

So this is the end of my favorite "captured" moments of 2010. We have so much to be thankful for this year and even though there were very hard moments, we're learning to grow through them and we can't wait to see what 2011 has in store for us.

Once again, Happy New year!

Love, Cat

A little late, but here's our lovely 2010 Christmas tree

Bruno (our 2010 x-mas tree) and I met November 26th. In efforts to make me happy during one my migraine days, husband suggested we get our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving! I would never say no to a tree, I absolutely live for those little twinkling lights. We hopped in the car to Loews and picked out Bruno. He's a Fraser Fir, which is why I almost named him Fraser. But he was a Bruno.
So here's our little Christmas love who'll be leaving us soon ;0(
